UnderLimit creates smaller copies on your iPhone. Seven tools cover images, PDFs, video, audio, Office documents and multiple files. Your originals stay unchanged.
Choose a limit for a supported video. Compressed copies use standard-colour MP4, up to 1080p and 30 frames per second. Sound requires a compatible source audio track.
Reduce supported recordings from Files into M4A copies. Compare sizes, preview the sound and share. Smaller files can lose sound quality.
Scan up to thirty pages. You can also shrink or combine supported PDFs. Flattened copies lose searchable text, links, forms and interactive features, and may not work with VoiceOver. Review every page.
Office compression reduces supported embedded JPEG and PNG images, keeping text and document structure editable. Signed, encrypted and macro-enabled documents are not supported.

Version 1.6 capabilities
Images
Choose one still JPEG, HEIC or PNG, or choose 2–10 still images. UnderLimit applies the 250 MB, 50-million-pixel and 32,768-pixel edge limits separately to each image. Targets run from 10 KB to 100 MB per image. Output is a new sRGB JPEG; transparent areas become white and source metadata, including GPS, is not retained. Verified images that finish before another item fails remain available.
PDFs
Choose one supported PDF up to 100 pages and 100 MB. UnderLimit exports a flattened visual copy; searchable text, links, forms, annotations and other interactive behaviour are removed. Visual conversion may remove accessibility information; the copy may not work with VoiceOver. The requested output size is a maximum, not a guarantee.
Select 2–10 PDFs and arrange them in your order. Add an optional maximum size. If reaching it needs a flattened visual copy, UnderLimit asks for your permission first. Combine supports up to 50 total pages and 100 MB of source data.
Scan up to 30 document pages with your camera and review the pages before sharing.
Videos
Import supported, playable MOV, MP4 or M4V files from Photos or Files, up to 2 GB and 8,192 pixels per edge. Compressed copies use standard-colour MP4 at up to 1080p and 30 fps. HDR and higher frame rates are converted. Sound is included when the source has a compatible audio track.
Audio
Choose supported recordings from Files and create M4A copies. Preview the sound before sharing: smaller files can lose audio quality.
Office documents
Reduce supported embedded JPEG and PNG images in DOCX and PPTX files while keeping text and document structure editable. Signed, encrypted and macro-enabled documents are not supported. Some documents cannot shrink enough.
Fit several files
Give supported attachments one combined size budget. Share the results separately or create a ZIP within that limit. Multi-file tools accept up to 20 files totalling 2 GB.
Create ZIP
Create one archive without changing its contents. ZIP creation does not promise a smaller file; already-compressed photos and videos may make a slightly larger archive.
Boundaries: not every codec, document or target is supported. History and cloud sync are not included. Supported files that already fit may keep their original format in the additional file tools. Animated images are not supported. Single-PDF shrinking rejects encrypted and signed PDFs and may reject image-heavy, unsupported inline-image or interactive structures. Combine rejects encrypted, signed and unsupported interactive structures. If a requested size would breach the legibility floor, UnderLimit reports the miss instead of presenting an unverified result.
A common profile limit
LinkedIn’s upload guidance lists an 8 MB maximum and requires a PNG or JPG. If an iPhone photo is too large, enter that maximum in UnderLimit, export a verified JPEG copy, and check LinkedIn’s other profile-photo requirements before uploading.

UnderLimit works locally. There is no account to create, no cloud library, and no behavioural tracking built into the app.
No AI services. No online processing. Core file processing happens on your iPhone. Cloud-provider files may need downloading through iOS first. You choose when and where to export.
This website measures aggregate visits, referrers, and performance through Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies or persistent visitor identifiers.
